I know I'm pretty much talking to no one except perhaps Chaim, but here
goes...

I am getting so excited about going to Australia to see Eddie. Well,
actually, I'm more excited about going to New Zealand before the tour,
but...

I'm just going to put it out there... I would love to hear Eddie sing
"You're a Big Girl Now" by Bob Dylan.

What the hell, I put it out there that I wanted to hear Tremor Christ at
my 150th show in LA in 2009, and I got it, so ... :)

Thinking back at previous Eddie solo tours, the first one, where I went
to 11 West Coast shows, The second, where I went to just the 2 Chicago
shows, the third, where I went to Memphis and Nashville (3 shows.)

The first tour I didn't enjoy as much, for several reasons. One, I was
sick as a dog, two, the setlists were not varied much, and three, I was
a huge Hillary supporter in the primaries, and Eddie was going on about
Obama, and displaying huge signs for Obama. It kind of pissed me off,
because it's one thing to choose a side between dems and repugnicans and
piss off the few repugnicans in the audience, but quite another to piss
off half your fans... as 49.95% of Dems supported Hillary.

How's Obama working for you now, Eddie? He's a leader, all right,
leading the country to the right, not the left (aka "caving"). Sure,
Hillary was a moderate Democrat to begin with, but she'd have fought for
a better health care bill, and she wouldn't have sold out her core
principles to the repugnicans, borrowing and transferring 200 billion to
the rich at the expense of the rest of us. And she didn't pretend to be
anti-war... 500 Americans killed last year in Afghanistan, under Obama's
escalation. He simply moved the war from one place to two others.
Playing whack-a-mole with American lives...

Anyway... the other 2 tours were absolutely fantastic, with more varied
setlists, and Eddie seemed to have learned how to handle the assholes
yelling out a little better. He has really come into his own as a solo
performer, and has become a good storyteller, making each performance a
very intimate session with the audience. So that's why I am really
looking forward to the 8 shows I'm seeing in Oz. Signed up for 6, which
was a good number, but then they added 2 shows in cities where I already
was going to be... :)

And Eddie, I forgave you for pushing Nader and giving the election to
bush, and I have forgiven you for pushing Obama... :)

Well Obama WAS running as a progressive. I knew all along he wasn't
anti-war, and he even said he might have voted for the Iraq war had he
been in the Senate (I know he would have, given his escalation in
Afghanistan and expansion of the war into Pakistan)... Hillary was
running more to the middle, but I think she'd have ended up being more
progressive, and we'd have had a public option. And now, getting
involved in a civil war in Libya...at the cost of billions of dollars,
after giving the rich a huge tax cut...

He's an empty suit, a puppet of the banks (there still is nothing in
place to prevent the kind of gambling which bankrupted our country), but
he gives a hell of a good speech... too bad he didn't live up to those
speeches...

Hell of a let-down, to go from Hope to Lesser of Two Evils...
